The Senate annuls the judgment of the court of appeals in a dispute between the copyright collective society and a television broadcaster

The Senate has annulled the judgment of Latgale Regional court in which the Latvian copyright collective society AKKA/LAA claims from a television broadcaster remuneration in the amount of approximately 600`000 EUR for use of musical works and conclusion of a licensing agreement between the society and the television broadcaster. The television broadcaster has also filed a counterclaim regarding conclusion of a licensing agreement that was not signed, but fully executed and fulfilled by both parties.
